Sand-Boarding in Merzouga Desert

Sahara Desert Organize sand-Boarding Activity in Merzouga Sahara Dezert.

Sandboarding is a table sport similar to snowboarding. It is a recreational activity and occurs in sand dunes instead of snow-capped mountains. This boardsport has adherents throughout the world, more frequent in desert areas or coastal areas with the dunes of the beach.

It involves riding a horse through or down a dune while standing with both feet tied to a board, although some sandboarders use a board with no bindings. It is less popular than snowboarding, partly because it is very difficult to build a mechanized ski lift on a sand dune, and so participants usually have to walk back to the top.
